Dear Wolverhampton Landlords,
We would like to thank you for the on-going partnership work with the Council to drive improvements and support people find affordable safe and sustainable housing in the private rented sector. Also working collectively to reduce Homelessness in the City.
With the growing financial pressure that the council faces and the ever-increasing price of privately rented accommodation in comparison to Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rates, it has become tougher than ever for us to try and prevent households from becoming homeless or to assist them to move to alternative privately rented accommodation. Given the high numbers of properties required and other demands City of Wolverhampton Council is no longer looking for temporary or emergency accommodation.
However, City of Wolverhampton Council is looking for long term tenancies to help us accommodate families and single people.
We hope to continue to develop this partnership and would ask for your help and assistance in accessing further homes for people in the private rented sector, and would ask you to get in touch if you have any properties that become available.
Support can include: -
- Tenants support and advice to help ensure that tenancies are sustainable
- Providing specialist advice on tenancy matters and changes in the PRS legislation
- Help to resolve disputes if they arise
- Tenant matching with your property
- Direct and consistent point of contact for landlords should any issues arise
- Access to welfare benefit services
